How can I protect myself when selling a domain to prevent scams?

I'm selling a domain and I want to make sure the buyer can't claim I scammed them after the sale. I've signed a sales contract and sent the buyer the transfer codes, but what if they have someone else register it under a different name? They could come back to me saying they didn't receive the domain or that I tricked them into giving it to someone else. This could lead to them getting their money back or trying to sue me. Are there any effective strategies or escrow services that can protect me from these kinds of false claims? I really want to avoid just hoping the buyer won't try to pull a fast one on me.

Actually, that's not how escrow services generally work. When the escrow is funded, you have to transfer the domain to the buyer, and you'll get proof from the registrar of that transfer. If the buyer tries to involve someone else and then claims they were scammed, the escrow service will have documented proof of the transfer to the actual buyer, which should cover you regardless of their complaints.

But do they really have proof? All you have is the email confirming you sent the codes. The buyer could always argue that the codes were fake or something like that.
