How Can I Recover a Corrupted Text File on Ubuntu?

I accidentally corrupted a .txt file on my laptop while using Ubuntu. After opening the file from my USB, I fat fingered a button, which caused an error message to appear. I then unplugged the USB and plugged it into my Windows PC, where it attempted to run a repair diagnostic. Unfortunately, all that I get now is gibberish in the file. I'm really confused and need help recovering this file! (Edit: I found a solution!) (Edit Again: Thanks, everyone! I used HxD to read the binary and managed to recover the text by decoding it and pasting it into a new file.)

Recovering a text file from a USB can be tricky. If you accidentally selected an option like 'repair disk' on Ubuntu, it might be hard to get your data back. Make sure you're using the correct encoding when you open the file in Windows—sometimes switching between UTF-8 and ASCII can help. Good luck!

What if I share an extract of the data in the corrupted file? That might give some clues.
