How Can I Revive My Old PC?

I'm looking to breathe new life into my old PC that's been collecting dust. I want to use some existing parts, including a 1070Ti GPU, an i7-8700 CPU, RAM, and storage. The only component that definitely needs replacing is the power supply. My current motherboard works, but the Ethernet port is broken, and the case is a bit bulky, so I'd prefer a smaller one if possible. I'm primarily planning to use this setup for emulators and family party games. Any suggestions on how to optimize this build with an emphasis on cost, ease of assembly, and size would be greatly appreciated!

So, just to clarify, you want to keep those key components and replace everything else? That makes sense! Since you mentioned you need a new power supply, I suggest going for a good 500W unit for reliable performance. Also, if you're into smaller setups, a micro ATX motherboard could be a good fit. Just keep an eye on the case flow when choosing one.

Yeah, definitely keep the micro ATX in mind! It’ll let you have a compact build while also giving you room for future upgrades.

You might want to consider replacing the 1070Ti with a 3070 or even a 4060 if your budget allows. The i7-8700 still packs a punch! If you swap that GPU and do a clean Windows install, it’ll feel like a brand-new system!

To make your life easier, stick with the stock cooler if you're getting a good case that provides decent airflow. And for your micro ATX board, there are great options out there! Just make sure it has the ports you need, especially since your Ethernet is out on the current one.

Absolutely! Just check online for the latest micro ATX boards with good reviews—they're usually super budget-friendly too!
