Hey everyone,
I'm in a tough situation and urgently need some advice. My abusive ex is getting out of jail in less than a week, and I recently discovered that his Google account was still linked to my phone. I'm really worried because it looks like my data might have been syncing to his account without my knowledge. This includes sensitive info like photos, contacts, and possibly even my location.
I've removed his account from my device, but now I'm terrified he could access my synced data as soon as he gets out. Google won't help me because it's his account, which leaves me feeling helpless. I'm looking for any advice on how to:
1. Lock, close, or restrict access to his Google account
2. Ensure my data is no longer linked or accessible to him
3. Any unconventional ideas for protecting myself and my son in the meantime
I'm really desperate for help here. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I'm sorry to say this, but removing his account might have been a mistake. I would have kept it active just to delete any sensitive info before removing it. If you have other devices where his account is still logged in, he could still find what you deleted. Honestly, if Google won’t assist you, it might be best to stop wasting time and think of other protective measures.
At this point, if you don’t have the password to his account, it’s likely that anything synced is still accessible to him. In the future, if you face this again, consider setting up your own Google account instead. As for now, you might want to talk to family services or his probation officer; they should take your concerns seriously, especially regarding the safety of your son.
Definitely reach out to family services! Framing it as a safety issue for your son could get them to respond quickly.
