I'm running a PowerShell script that needs to check every file individually on a large disk. The script uses `Get-ChildItem` to list files in a top-level folder and then calls `Get-Item` on each file to check their last write time. It also recurses through subfolders. The specific command for each file looks like this: `get-item -literalPath $path -force | select-object lastWriteTime`. Since I can't use a filter to pick files based on their last write time, I must check each file separately. However, I've noticed that the speed of the `Get-Item` command varies drastically—sometimes it's quick, but it slows down particularly on image and ini files. I'm wondering if there are faster alternatives to `Get-Item` or `Get-ChildItem` to improve my script's performance. I also realized I should consider profiling my script to identify which parts are slow. Any advice?
