Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to Windows 11 (not by choice, haha), and I've been facing an annoying issue with UAC prompts. Every time I try to open any application, including the gacha games I love, I get a UAC warning asking for permission to make changes. I've tried downloading these games directly from the developers' websites, as well as Steam and Epic Games, but the prompts keep popping up. I've tinkered with permissions, set options to run as administrator, and even changed file locations. There's one more method I could try, but it seems really complicated. After not using a PC for over a decade, I'm probably missing something simple. I definitely don't want to turn off UAC because I'm a bit paranoid about security. It seems like my PC doesn't recognize me as the admin. Any simple advice? I just want to game without dealing with these annoying pop-ups!

You could create a shortcut for the game that bypasses the UAC prompt but still applies the necessary admin rights. It might do the trick! Check out this tutorial [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVHsrDYpfLg) for more details on how to set it up.
UAC prompts come up when an application requests admin rights. It's either on or off without additional settings. If a game or app needs admin rights, changing that behavior could lead to issues. UAC is in place mainly for users who might not be tech-savvy, as it can help prevent malware from running. If you know what you're doing and come from trusted sources, maybe consider disabling it, but it's ultimately up to you!
Exactly! I'm curious too; it feels so unnecessary for the games I play.
I get that, but some games, like gacha ones, shouldn't need admin rights at all. I wonder why they keep asking for it, especially if Steam doesn’t even ask for admin permissions when you launch games!
