I'm one-handed and rely heavily on the right CTRL key, so I'm frustrated by the new laptops I've received—all of which have replaced this key with a shortcut for Copilot. Every time I plug in a new keyboard, it gets in the way of my work. I'm looking for a solution to revert this key back to its original CTRL function, preferably through the registry or during the OOBE process. Any ideas?

You're not alone! I have a couple of Lenovo laptops, and it seems the new models have switched the right CTRL key to Copilot. It's a real hassle.
Have you checked out PowerToys? Their Keyboard Manager might help you remap that key effectively.
Some laptops have the option to change key functions in their firmware settings. For instance, Lenovo Vantage has some hidden tweaks you might want to explore.
Apparently, this new Copilot button sends several keystrokes instead of just one, which makes it tough to remap to CTRL. Some folks have tried using AutoHotKey but ended up with the CTRL key getting stuck accidentally.
Yeah, Microsoft really missed the mark on this one.
I found some threads where users had similar problems, especially regarding accessibility for blind users. You might want to look into those for additional solutions. Here's a link in case it helps: [Link to thread].
Thanks for the link!

Sounds like something straight out of a malware playbook.
