How Do I Create a Custom Linux Distro for My Friends?

I've been using Arch for about a year now, and many of my friends are interested in trying it out. However, they've expressed concerns about it being too complex and intimidating. I'm looking to develop a personal distribution that includes features like customizability, driver support, and tools for migrating from Windows (like Proton and Wine). I also want to make terminal commands more user-friendly, such as using Pacman, Yay, Flatpak, and maybe even including Chrome pre-installed. Most of what I need is already available on Cachyos, and I want to branch off from there. What steps do I need to take to make this OS installable on a drive?

To get started, you should look into using archiso. It’s a tool specifically for creating Arch Linux installations. You'll probably want to include Cachyos’s repository since you're aiming to build off of it. But honestly, for your friends, it might be easier if you just get them started with Cachyos itself, as it simplifies a lot of the Arch experience. Also, consider using Ventoy to create a bootable USB drive, especially if they want to keep Windows alongside.

Thanks for the tip! I'm excited to give it a try. The goal is to make the experience smoother since my friends are complete newcomers to Linux. Plus, with the dual booting thing, they won't feel stuck if they want to switch back to Windows.
