I've been struggling for hours trying to access an old email for verification on another account, but I accidentally linked it to Google Family Link ages ago. Now that I'm 18, I thought it would automatically be removed since this feature is mainly for parents monitoring their kids. I've even created two new emails because I couldn't use the old one. Unfortunately, I need to delete my other emails to regain access to the original account, which makes no sense. My mom and I have spent time looking through the Family Link app and website but every link we click just leads us in circles and nothing works. I really need help understanding how Family Link operates because it's been incredibly frustrating. It says I have to delete the account to exit Family Link, but that would mean losing everything. I just want access to my email back! If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

To leave a Google Family Link group, usually the family manager (like a parent) can remove accounts. However, if you're stuck in a loop trying to do that, it's likely a glitch. Make sure your family manager logs in and creates a new family group, then they can remove you from the old one. You might also want to try clearing the app cache or using a different browser to see if that helps.
If the family manager is having trouble accessing the settings, they might need to try resetting their password first. Sometimes a simple account reset can clear up issues like this. Once logged in, there should be an option to manage family settings more easily. Good luck!
I’ll suggest that to my mom! Maybe that’ll get us further than we’ve been.
We tried that but every time they try to log in, it just takes us back to the home screen with no progress! I’m so lost.
