How do I properly boot from a USB to install Windows after using Linux?

I'm in the process of switching off Linux Mint on my Omen L25 PC because it's not meeting my needs, and I plan to install Windows 11 instead. I've prepared my USB drive, formatted it, and it's ready to go. However, every time I try to boot from the USB, my computer just opens Linux Mint instead. I'm unsure if I need to partition my storage for this, and if so, how to go about it. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

Windows can be a pain to set up from a USB on Linux sometimes. If you haven't already, try using Ventoy to create a bootable USB. You just install Ventoy on the USB, then drag your Windows ISO file onto it. After that, restart, look up the specific key to access your boot menu (like F12 or Escape), and choose the USB from there. Just a heads-up—Windows will likely reformat the entire drive, so back up any important files first!

I set up Ventoy, but every time I try to save changes in the BIOS, it still boots into Mint instead of the USB.

Have you checked your BIOS settings? Often, the boot order defaults back to your main drive after a restart, so you'll need to adjust that each time you want to boot from a USB device. Make sure your USB is set as the first boot option!

Could you DM me what you see when you try to boot from the USB? Maybe I can help!
