Hey everyone! I'm new to the world of domain management and have hit a bit of a snag. I bought my domain from Namecheap and set up custom DNS through AWS Route53, which works great for my static S3 website that's even secured with HTTPS. Now, I'm trying to set up a custom email using the domain I registered, but I'm not sure how to do it with AWS SES or Namecheap. Has anyone been through this and can share their experience? Any guidance would be really appreciated! Thanks!

I personally use forwardemail.net to forward emails to my Gmail. However, be warned that ensuring everything you send doesn't end up in spam can be quite a headache!
If you're keen on staying within the AWS ecosystem, consider using AWS WorkMail. It's a bit of a cost at $4 per month per user, but it provides a more robust email solution. Just make sure you don't use your Route53 domain for your root account email to avoid issues later on.
I tried AWS SES before, and while it works for sending bulk emails, setting it up as an inbox can be a real hassle. I'd recommend looking into third-party services like Gmail Workspace or Zoho; they can save you a lot of trouble!
You could use Namecheap's email service! Just log into your Namecheap account, click on your domain, and navigate to cPanel. You'll find email options there that are included with your domain purchase.
It looks like you're on the right track, but just a heads up, AWS SES isn't really a complete email solution. It's mainly for sending out emails, not for receiving them. You might want to check out Namecheap's email hosting options—they're pretty straightforward. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! Is there a free solution out there?
