I found this PCI-E cable that's hanging off my setup, and I'm not sure what it's for. Also, I'd like to know how I can add more storage by installing another M.2 SSD. Any guidance would be appreciated!

That daisychain is indeed for your GPU power; many GPUs need a second 8-pin connector. If your motherboard has extra M.2 slots, great! Otherwise, you can just install a 2.5" SATA SSD. By the way, make sure your RAM sticks are in the correct slots for the best performance!
And hey, don’t forget to keep your PC clean! It looks like it could use a dusting—maybe power that cable for a mini vacuum to tackle the mess!
The cable you're seeing is a split from the PCIe power cable that supplies your GPU. To add more storage, check your motherboard manual for any spare M.2 slots available. If there are none, you can also look for free SATA ports to install a standard SSD.
You're right; that PCIe cable is just another power option for the GPU. If you want to mount an M.2 SSD, you need either an extra M.2 slot or a free PCIe slot where you can add an NVMe expansion card. A SATA SSD is also a solid choice if you want something simpler.
Just to add, the SATA option can be a good fallback if you don't have another M.2 slot. Check if you have room for that!

Thanks for the tip on RAM slots! I didn’t know that mattered!
