I'm curious about how long a processor can stay at its maximum power usage, particularly at 250W, when it's under heavy load. For instance, if it's running demanding tasks for more than a minute, will it sustain that power draw?

It really varies based on the workload and a host of factors, like temperature and your BIOS settings. If your cooling is up to par, it can handle high power for a longer time.
For heavy multithreaded tasks, yeah, it can keep that 250W usage as long as it's being adequately cooled. But hey, have you considered AMD? Their processors typically use less power overall.
The duration really depends on whether it's a continuous task or not. If it hits thermal limits, the processor may throttle down. But if you have great cooling, like sub-zero setups, that changes things.
Yeah, it ultimately comes down to your cooling solution and the specific workload you're running.

I don't think I want to switch. My current CPU is hitting 253W, and I’ve even pushed the limit to 4096W, so it's pretty much unlimited in my setup!
