I have an Intel i7 9700K paired with an RTX 2060 in my prebuilt gaming setup. I originally got this PC to help me through lockdown, but it's starting to show its age and is struggling with newer games. I've come across a good deal on a 7800X3D CPU, which I can get for $250. I'm considering upgrading to either a 9070XT or a 5070 Ti based on my budget. What kind of performance boost should I expect from these upgrades? Will they keep me going for a few years?

If you’re gaming at 1080p, your current setup is okay, but it might struggle a bit as new titles come out. Once you go to 1440p, you’ll see a significant upgrade. The RTX 2060 doesn’t have enough VRAM for higher resolutions. The 7800X3D is super powerful, and pairing it with a 5070 Ti will definitely keep you solid for the next several generations of games.
The 7800X3D will give you around a 50-60% performance boost over your i7 9700K, especially in CPU-heavy games. And with either GPU you’re considering, you’re looking at a massive leap in power—almost 4x the performance of your current card! You’ll be more than set for at least a few years!
I recently made a similar upgrade and swapped my CPU for a 5 9600X, which is definitely a step up. I saw about a 5x increase in performance—it’s pretty mind-blowing!
You can expect roughly a 330% performance increase with either the 9070XT or 5070 Ti—that's quite an upgrade! Both options are great and should last you a while. Check out benchmarks online for more specific comparisons to your current setup.
It’s a big upgrade for sure! You’ll notice a significant bump in performance. These GPUs are around 3.5 to 4 times faster than the RTX 2060, which is huge!

Yeah, definitely look at benchmark sites. They give a good idea of where the 2060 stands versus what's out there!
