I have an iPhone 16 running iOS 18.3.2, and I don't have it jailbroken. I'm curious about how likely it is to get malware from visiting suspicious websites. Also, if my phone did get infected with malware, would updating the software clear it out?

You should definitely update to iOS 18.5! Updates usually fix security holes that could be used to install malware. However, if you already have malware, a simple update won’t make your device safe. Most users won’t face serious issues unless they're specifically targeted by advanced spyware, so you might just deal with something like calendar spam instead.
Okay, I just updated to iOS 18.5. Does that mean I’m safer from spyware now?
