How to Install a Second OS on a Partition Without Overwriting My Current OS?

I'm currently running Linux Mint on my drive and have used GParted to split the disk into two equal halves, each being 500GB. I'm considering installing Zorin since it claims to have a Windows-like interface, but honestly, it doesn't resemble Windows 10 as much as I hoped. Instead, I found LinuxFX, which I tried with Rufus on a USB stick. Now, I have a couple of questions: 1) When I boot to BIOS and set the USB to run, will the Linux installer recognize that Mint is already on the drive and avoid automatically installing over the Mint partition? 2) Once I install LinuxFX, how can I set it as the default OS so that I don't get a boot prompt? I want it to boot straight into LinuxFX, but how do I access the menu if I need to change the boot settings? By the way, I recently installed Winux, and I'm not interested in any software like Chrome or Edge. I just want to clarify these installation steps.

Instead of focusing solely on finding a distro that looks like Windows, it might be more helpful to list what you need from Windows and see if those apps or their alternatives are accessible in Linux. That way, you'll start learning Linux with tools that suit you. But hey, if you're really set on the UI, I get that Winux has the most Windows-like interface, so let’s stick to that!

I understand where you're coming from, but let's keep it to the topic about installing Linux. I’m all for discussing the UI later!
