How to Install Windows Without a Second Windows Machine?

I'm in the process of building a new PC, and I've noticed that many setup guides suggest having a second Windows machine to create an installation USB drive. Unfortunately, I don't have access to another Windows PC. What options do I have for installing Windows without that second machine? I've looked online, but the search results seem to assume I have access to one. Any suggestions would be super helpful!

You could buy the installation media directly, which can be a bit pricey, around $45 to $60. Alternatively, if you can access a public computer at a library, that might work too, but keep in mind that many libraries use Linux, so you might not be able to download Windows directly there. Always check the computer's OS first!

Buying the installation media sounds good, but $60 is a bit steep, right? Maybe I’ll look for a sale or something!

Have you tried asking friends or family for help? It's pretty common for someone to have a Windows PC available. If that's not possible, you might have to go to a local store and buy a Windows installation USB. Just make sure to avoid those overpriced packages that come with a Windows key—it can be a bit of a scam.

If you have access to someone else’s computer, even just for a short time, you could download the Windows ISO and create the USB installer that way. If it’s tough to find a friend with a Windows PC, consider checking Amazon for cheap Windows installation USBs. Just remember, the key versions might be more expensive, so look for the basic ones!

Good idea! It’s amazing how many people have spare USBs lying around. I should definitely explore Amazon options, too.
