I manage a media review site that was recently hacked. After restoring the site to a previous version, my security tool confirmed that it's clean. However, my search results are still showing outdated links to articles that no longer exist, leading to 404 errors. It seems like my site's SEO has taken a hit, making it hard to find my actual content on Google. My SEO tags remain unchanged, so I wonder what steps I can take to fix this issue and restore my site's presence in search results.

You should definitely make use of Google's Search Console. It's full of tools to manage what appears in search results for your website. Check it out!
Consider asking Google to recrawl your site. There used to be a form where you could input your URL for reindexing. Check if something similar is still available!

That could be risky, though. Wouldn't it hurt your current rankings?
