Back in the years between 2012 and 2016, there was a lot of buzz about everything needing to have an API. Now that we're in the era of AI, how do you see software interfaces changing? What advancements or changes do you anticipate in how we interact with software due to AI?

At the end of the day, I think many interfaces will just be driven by AI. You’ll describe what you want, and they’ll interpret that better than we can. Eventually, it might even get to the point where they can read our minds!
I think AI is going to make interfaces super dynamic! Real-time generation will mean that instead of fixed UIs, everything will adapt based on the user’s needs. Websites will focus on letting AI access their data more easily, which could also cut down on unnecessary UI elements. Imagine just asking an AI to do things for you instead of digging through menus. It’ll be more intuitive, leaning towards personalization—like having your own private assistant anticipating what you need!
But then again, I’ve heard similar claims about voice assistants taking over everything. People just love their screens too much—it’s going to be a tough sell to get them to give that up!
I believe we’re on the verge of widespread AR technologies too. In just a few months, I expect comfy AR glasses that can overlay content in the real world. You’d simply tell an AI what you want, and it would visualize it right in front of you. It’s almost here, but we need realistic avatars for agents and better AR tech.
I’ve got a Quest 2 and have seen warnings about eye health. Until we know more about the long-term effects, I’d prefer a way to integrate these tools with my existing mobile AI without risking my vision!
I think the movie 'Her' captures the future of interfaces perfectly. Imagine a small screen and an in-ear assistant that handles everything you ask without hassle. You won’t even have to log in to check bank balances or pay bills; your AI would just take care of it! That’s the dream!
I agree, but even taxes could totally be simplified by AI handling it all! That’s some next-level stuff.
There’s talk of future tech allowing brain connections like Neuralink for direct AI interaction, which feels both exciting and a bit scary!
Honestly, many interfaces today feel cluttered with unnecessary features. APIs are still key, but it’s like no one knows how to use them right anymore. I’ve tried tools like Postman, but they often complicate things. I find that some newer services are just making integration more of a hassle than it needs to be!
Honestly, I’m looking forward to new AI models that can work with basic shapes and create outputs from them, like characters or animations. It’d change the game for both learning and creativity!
