I think I ran a dangerous file, what should I do now?

I accidentally ran a suspicious link that I shouldn't have, and now I'm not sure how to fix it. It seems like a malicious file is messing up my computer. All I know is that the task manager and registry editor are disabled, and I can't use my second screen properly. I tried a PowerShell command I found in the comments, but I had to type it out manually, and it didn't work. I'm feeling pretty lost and decided to reset my PC based on some suggestions.

Just wipe the PC and start fresh, seriously! You don't want those malicious files hanging around.

Check this out! [Link](https://app.any.run/tasks/4ff47146-811c-4a16-8ac8-7f5cc4154c71) – I found this when I looked into what I ran. Just so you know, it messed with my clicking after I restarted.

Try booting your computer into safe mode with networking. This can help you isolate the issue. Once in safe mode, you may be able to delete the malicious file before it causes more problems.

I managed to get safe mode working! The virus didn't seem to activate there, and I was able to delete some files. However, I still can't access the task manager or registry even in safe mode. Any idea where I should look next?

Honestly, your best bet is to wipe the PC. If you can't stop yourself from running random stuff, maybe it's best to take a break from using a computer until you're more sure of what you're doing. And remember to add 2FA on all your accounts!

It sounds like you might have downloaded an info stealer. The best course of action is to wipe your system completely. After that, change all your passwords and enable two-factor authentication wherever you can. Be careful not to run unknown files in the future!
