Is ChatGPT’s Memory System Acting Up?

Not too long ago, the 'remembers all your past conversations' feature launched where I live, and it made ChatGPT way more useful for me. It knew the context of my work, which saved me a lot of time. However, just yesterday, it started acting like it couldn't remember anything—no past chats or even from the old 'saved memories' system. Now every chat with version 4o feels like a fresh start, with only the info from my custom prompt available. Is memory working for anyone else? Any idea what's going on? It's definitely still enabled on my end.

You're not alone! I've been having the same issue with version 4o not accessing memory. It says things like 'I don’t have memory in this chat,' so it seems glitchy for some of us. If memory continuity is essential for your work, consider switching to version 4.1 for now. I also recommend submitting a support ticket to help get this issue noticed. Many of us really need the memory feature to function properly!

Does 4.1 carry over from 4o, or will I lose my previous chats?

I found a workaround! I created a project folder and moved all my related chats into it. Now, ChatGPT can access everything in that folder. Still annoying though, because this 'lobotomy' has disrupted my regular process and trashed my knowledge base!

I totally get your frustration! It feels like ChatGPT got a lobotomy overnight. I had the same thing happen yesterday—completely stopped accessing my past info. They really need to sort this out quickly because it's messing with workflows big time!
