I'm looking to buy a domain name that's already owned. I've heard that GoDaddy charges $69.99 just to help with the negotiation process. Is it worth it? Any experiences or tips?

The $69.99 fee is just for the chance to negotiate. In many cases, GoDaddy might just reach out and say the owner isn't willing to sell. It's usually better to find a different domain that isn't taken.

Exactly! Sometimes you can find something just as good that's available.

Yep, I think choosing a different name would save you a lot of hassle.

If you really want that specific domain, I recommend trying to negotiate yourself instead. Often, just reaching out directly can give you better results without the hefty fee.

Definitely! You gain more control that way.

Good point! It's best to make them your first offer to set the tone.

I've tried using their negotiation service and it felt like a scam. They just play middleman and might not actually help you get the domain for a fair price.

I had the same experience! It felt like a waste of money.

Exactly! Better to negotiate directly.

For what it's worth, there are law firms that specialize in domain negotiations. They can keep your identity confidential and might help you get a better deal without someone jacking up the price.

Good recommendation! That could really help protect your interests.

I've heard good things about that approach!

Honestly, I'd steer clear of GoDaddy. I've heard a lot of negative things about them, and many users recommend avoiding the company for domain purchases altogether.

Totally agree! They're known for having shady practices.

Same here! I've always found better alternatives.
