I'm a designer with over five years of experience, and my husband is a senior software developer at a well-known company. We're considering launching our own business focused on creating websites, landing pages, and e-commerce sites. I'm currently doing some market research to determine if this venture is worth pursuing. Given our backgrounds, what are your thoughts on the current state of the market for web development? Should we go for it or stick to freelancing?

I run a small local web design agency and I've found that there's a lot of potential in targeting local businesses. Many have outdated websites or aren't mobile-friendly, so there's a real opportunity there. Just focus on sales and connect with those businesses that need help!

You mind me asking what platform?

There's a big market out there with many unaddressed needs. Focus on becoming professional problem solvers rather than just developers and designers. Being great at sales makes a huge difference in success. Listen to your clients' problems and provide solutions—then you'll be in demand!

The market is shifting towards clients wanting solutions for their business problems, not just web development. Adjust your mindset to focus on solving those issues, and you'll be successful!

Just go for it! Consider hiring a marketing company to generate leads for you. The key is to minimize customer acquisition costs. If you can find a niche, that’ll really help too!
