Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my GPU to an RX 9060 XT with 16GB of VRAM, but I'm facing a CPU bottleneck with my Ryzen 5 2600 now. My current setup is running at 1080p, and I'm considering two options:
1. Upgrade to AM5: This would involve buying a new motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F CPU, and new RAM, totaling around $400.
2. Stick with my current PCIe 3.0 / AM4 motherboard and just get a Ryzen 7 5700X, which would cost about $130 and should give me similar performance. From what I've researched, the PCIe 3.0 limitation won't greatly affect my performance with the RX 9060 XT.
I'm leaning towards the second option since it's more budget-friendly. What do you all recommend? Thanks!

Honestly, if it were me, I’d stick with the AM4 CPU upgrade. Many people run setups with similar CPUs and more powerful GPUs than the 9060 XT without complaints. If you're into competitive gaming and need high FPS though, you might want to think about the AM5 option after checking benchmarks for your games.
I’d suggest going for the AM4 upgrade. If you can grab the X3D variant at a reasonable price, it could give you a nice boost without spending too much. Plus, a lot of folks manage to push powerful GPUs alongside similar CPUs without issues.
I’d probably stick with AM4 unless you have plans to upgrade your GPU soon. The 9060 XT is top-tier for AM4 users, and even with a Ryzen 7 5700X, you should be set for a solid 1080p experience for a good while.

True, but finding those X3D chips at a decent price is tough. They seem to go for over $270 on eBay lately.
