I'm trying to screenshare Netflix with my girlfriend over Discord. I've figured out how to avoid the black screen issue by disabling hardware acceleration, but I'm more concerned about getting caught for sharing my dad's account. The Terms of Service for both Netflix and Discord mention that what I'm doing is technically illegal, but has anyone actually faced consequences for it? Also, I found out I can share at a higher quality using OBS; would that increase the chances of getting caught?

You really don't have much to worry about. The chances of anything happening to your dad's Netflix account are pretty slim.
Honestly, I doubt anyone cares that much. The worst that could happen is maybe getting banned from Discord, but even that seems unlikely.
Netflix's ability to detect sharing is pretty limited; they mainly track via the browser. Discord's streams are a different story, but it seems like they probably won't put effort into tracking Netflix streams. Yes, it's technically illegal, so you might want to think twice about it. But with how common it is for long-distance friendships to share shows, it's a bit of a gray area.

Thanks for the info! Do you think using OBS's virtual cam for better quality might be easier for them to track?
