Hey everyone! I just built a killer gaming PC with a 5090 and 9950x3d earlier this year. I've been keeping the humidity in my room nice and stable between 45% and 55% during the summer using both my A/C and a dehumidifier. Now that the colder months are hitting the northeast U.S., I'm seeing the humidity drop to about 25-30%, and I want to maintain that 45%-55% range to protect my new build. I picked up a Levoit Superior 6000S Evaporative Humidifier for $225. I'm planning to keep it as far from my PC as possible, but my main concern is whether it's okay to have it in the same room. I really don't want any moisture getting into the PC and ruining it. Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!

Honestly, your PC should be fine as long as you manage the humidity well. Low humidity can actually lead to static electricity, which isn't great for your components. Keeping humidity around 30% is usually recommended, and it sounds like you want to maintain an ideal range between 45% and 55%. So having that humidifier shouldn't be a waste! Just keep an eye on it to avoid excessive moisture near your computer.
I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable having a humidifier in the same room as my PC. Just my preference! I keep my electronics safe in a drier environment, around 25-40% humidity during the winter. But if you're cautious and space things out, maybe it could work for you!

Yeah, low humidity can cause ESD risks. It's good that you're aiming to keep the range balanced. As long as it's not right next to your PC, you should be safe!
