Is it Time to Upgrade from 4060 Ti to 5070 Ti or Try AMD’s 9070 XT?

Hey folks! I'm contemplating an upgrade for my PC and I'm torn between the NVIDIA 5070 Ti and the AMD 9070 XT graphics cards. Here are my current specs: I've got a 4060 Ti 8GB GPU, an i5-12600KF CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6400 MHz, and an MSI B760 motherboard. I'm looking for something that not only performs better but could also last me a while longer without breaking the bank. I've had issues with AMD cards in the past – my old 5700 XT had quite a few driver problems that improved over time. If I go with a 5070 Ti, I'm considering a cheaper MSI version, but I'm also looking at a pricier ASUS model. Do you think either would work smoothly with my setup? Also, I'm planning to upgrade my PSU along with this purchase; any recommendations for wattage would be appreciated!

If you're looking at the 9070 XT, check if you can find it for about $100 less than the 5070 Ti; that's when it becomes a good deal. Otherwise, I'd say go for the 5070 Ti if you can swing it!

I've got the MSI 5070 Ti and I'm loving it! Unless you're into extreme overclocking, there's really no need to splurge on the most expensive cards. Just keep in mind that Nvidia recommends a 750W or 850W PSU for the 5070 Ti, so definitely plan for that upgrade.

Honestly, both the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti would be massive upgrades from your 4060 Ti. It's really down to what fits your budget and which card you like the look of. Just be aware that driver issues can be hit or miss, so you might need to consider that too.

I highly recommend the 5070 Ti, especially if you’re gaming at 1440p. It's perfect for ultra settings, and you can easily hit 140fps+ with DLSS. It performs well in terms of power and efficiency too.

I have the Asus Prime 5070 Ti OC and it runs great! Plus, it’s usually cheaper than the Tough models with almost identical performance. The 5070 Ti tends to outshine the 9070 XT in most gaming scenarios, so I’d lean towards that one if I were you.
