I'm considering purchasing a 5080 Founders Edition that I've seen priced around $1400. I'm curious about whether the price might drop before April since I need to buy one by then. Should I jump on it now to avoid a price hike, or is it better to hold off a bit?

Prices are only projected to rise, especially with demand from AI data centers. If you find one at Nvidia's web store, you might still snag it at MSRP, but keep in mind that supply is running low.
I just picked up an MSI 5080 Shadow OC for around $1270, but I had to get a new power supply since it requires ATX 3.1 connectors. Make sure to check your current setup because upgrading it could add to your overall cost!
If you're looking for top-of-the-line performance, the 5080 is a better choice for gaming at 4K or VR compared to the 5070ti, which is also priced high.
Getting a 5080 FE at MSRP, which is officially $999, can be a challenge. They restock infrequently and sell out quickly. Keep an eye on stock trackers and be ready to buy; you might have a shot at it before April.
FEs are typically pretty stable in price, and there aren't many of them available. They often don’t drop below their original MSRP post-launch, so it might be wise to buy sooner rather than later if you need one before April.

I saw a card for $1050 recently and missed the chance. Now I'm looking at prices that are way higher!
