Is it worth upgrading to a 5080 GPU with my current setup?

I've been thinking about upgrading my Nvidia 3070 GPU to a 5080, and I'm curious if it'll be a good move without having to replace my other components. I'm on a tight budget, so I can't build a new PC. I'm looking to get a bigger 4K monitor, and I want to ensure my gaming experience hits above 60fps. My setup includes an X570 Aorus Elite motherboard, a Ryzen 7 5800X processor, and a Seasonic 750W power supply. I read somewhere that the power supply might not be enough, but I wanted to hear opinions from people who have experience with this kind of upgrade. Will my older components be compatible with the new GPU?

You should definitely give it a try! Don't let people who say you'll be bottlenecked discourage you. I've got a Ryzen 7 7700 and it performs similarly to your 5800X. With the 5080, you'll easily hit stable 4K at 60hz without even needing AI enhancements. Just a heads up, your PSU is sufficient, but you might have to use an adapter because it might not have the specific connector the 5080 needs. Just be careful with that!

The impact your CPU has will depend a lot on the games you play and your settings. While the 5800X is still a solid choice, certain games may demand more processing power due to their design. In general, higher resolutions with lower refresh rates relieve some stress on the CPU; whereas lower resolutions and high refresh rates put more strain on it. Your PSU should be okay for this upgrade!

It really depends on what games you enjoy. It’s a bit ironic to talk about getting a 5080 when you're on a budget, but hey, I get it! Just out of curiosity, what titles are you playing?

I usually play Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3. I might be exaggerating about my financial situation, but I'm looking to upgrade as affordably as possible.
