Is Linux Mint Good for Gaming?

I'm considering going back to Linux Mint for gaming after using Windows for a while due to work and Adobe products. I used to love Mint when it first came out and I prefer its convenience for installing deb packages and its overall user experience. I have some experience with gaming on my Steam Deck, but I'm unsure if sticking to Mint is a good idea. Are there performance tweaks I should make, or would switching to a different distro be better? I've disabled compositing in fullscreen mode, but I'm hesitant to dive into terminal tweaks or switch kernels as I'm worried I might mess something up. What are your thoughts?

If your hardware isn’t super new, Mint should be totally fine for gaming. Most games run well on it, but if you're planning on modding, you might hit some bumps. I switched to Nobara for that reason, and it definitely runs smoother for modding and even handles the EA App better now.

That's good to know! I was worried about modding since I'm big on that when I play.
