Is My CPU Causing a Bottleneck with My New GPU?

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 1660 Super to a 9060 XT, but I'm not seeing much of an improvement in FPS when playing Valorant. Previously, I could hit around 200-250 FPS with the 1660 Super, but now with the 9060 XT, there's hardly any difference, and it seems like neither my GPU nor my CPU is being fully utilized. I'm using an i5 11600K and I'm wondering if it's not powerful enough for the 9060 XT. Is there something I can do to fix this issue without having to buy a new CPU?

In a game like Valorant, it's pretty likely that your CPU is bottlenecking your performance. Even if your CPU isn't running at 100% usage, it can still limit your FPS if it's not keeping up with demands, especially with fast-paced games.

You might want to try overclocking your CPU or adjusting your memory timings. Often, the issue isn't a direct CPU bottleneck but rather a memory bandwidth problem. Tuning that could help you out!

Thanks for the tip! How much do you think I can safely overclock my CPU?
