Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first gaming PC and I'd love your feedback on my setup to see if it's stable enough for 1440p gaming. Here's what I've chosen so far:
- **Motherboard:** Asus ROG Strix B650E-E GAMING WIFI
- **CPU:** AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D
- **GPU:** RTX 5060 TI 16GB (MSI GAMING TRIO OC)
- **RAM:** Kingston Fury Beast RGB DDR5-6000 CL30
- **Cooling:** Arctic Liquid Freezer lll Pro 360 A-RGB
- **PSU:** Be quiet! Pure Power 13M 850W
- **SSD:** Samsung 990pro 2TB
I've already bought the SSD and case (Endorfy ARX 700 ARGB) since they were on sale. I'm confident about my choices for the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and PSU, but I'm still on the fence about the GPU. The 5070 TI is a better option, but it costs nearly double the 5060 TI.
I've read that the Arctic Liquid Freezer is a solid cooling solution, but I'm indecisive about sticking with an AIO. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, and greetings from Germany!

I feel like you have a bit of a mismatch here with such a high-end CPU and a midrange GPU. Maybe consider scaling down the CPU to save for a better GPU. The GPU generally plays a larger role in gaming performance, especially at 1440p. Also, you might be able to get away with a less expensive motherboard without sacrificing too much performance.
I recently upgraded my PC and used a cheaper Asus B650E MAX GAMING WIFI. It has similar specs to yours but saved a bit of cash. Consider the RX 9070 as well—it might be a bit more expensive than the 5060 TI but offers better performance.
Thanks for the tip! I’m checking out the RX 9070 as a possible option! I typically prefer NVIDIA for ray tracing, but I’ll keep an eye out for the best deals.
What’s your budget for this build? Just a thought, even though you're leaning towards an AIO, many say you could save some money with a good air cooler which is perfectly sufficient for the 7800X3D. Also, an 850W PSU is more than enough for what you're building, especially if you go with the 5070 TI, so you're in a good spot there.
Hey! My budget's around 1800€ without a monitor. I chose AIO mainly for the aesthetics and wanted enough headroom in the PSU for potential upgrades.
For 1440p gaming, I'd definitely recommend considering a stronger GPU. The RTX 5060 TI tends to perform more like a 1080p card in many games, especially if you're thinking about AAA titles. If your budget allows, go for the RTX 5070 TI for better performance. It might be more upfront cost, but it'll pay off in the long run!
Totally agree! If you're playing heavier games, the 5060 TI may struggle at higher settings. The 5070 TI is definitely a better choice for future-proofing your build.
I get your point! I'm definitely weighing whether to stick with the 7800X3D since I'm thinking ahead for upgrades. Would scaling back still provide adequate performance for my gaming style?
