Hey everyone! I recently got a B450 motherboard from a bundle of PC parts, specifically the Aorus Pro WiFi model. When I install my CPU (a Ryzen 3900XT), the motherboard doesn't post, and the CPU LED lights up, but I know the CPU works perfectly on another board. I'm curious about whether AM4 sockets are prone to damage like Intel's or if it's more likely that I need to update the BIOS.

Could you tell us which exact motherboard model you have? If it turns out you need a BIOS update, doing it without a compatible CPU might be a challenge. Since it's a used board, it could also just be defective. Knowing the BIOS version is crucial here to check compatibility with your CPU.
The B450 chipset came out after the 3000 series CPUs were released, so I think it's more likely that the board itself is defective, rather than having a BIOS issue. Just a heads up.
Thanks for the insight! If I find a cheap CPU just to test it out, I might go for it. Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to move on.

Sorry for the late reply, it's the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro WiFi. Is there a specific model number I should be checking for?
