Hey folks, I've got a question about my power supply unit (PSU) — the MSI MAG A650GL, which I've had for about a month now. Recently, it started making this loud buzzing noise. To give you some background, my PC is around two years old, and I replaced my previous PSU (a Corsair CV650 80+ Bronze) back in December because it failed to turn on a couple of times in just two months. Since installing the new PSU, my PC has been running super smoothly — no crashes or shutdowns, everything's working fine, except for this buzzing noise.
I've already checked a few things: no cables are touching the fans, and I've reseated the PSU to make sure it's correctly installed. The buzzing noise starts off quiet but then escalates into a loud buzz. Here are a couple of questions I have:
1. Should I be concerned about this noise? Is it a sign that the PSU is failing, and should I consider replacing or RMA'ing it?
2. Could this buzzing be something minor like coil whine, or does coil whine typically sound different?
Any advice would be really appreciated!

You shouldn't worry too much right now, but I suggest you exchange it if you're still within the return window. If you can't return it this weekend, you might want to RMA it with MSI just to be safe.
It sounds like the bearings on the fan might be going out. Coil whine usually sounds higher-pitched. Considering that the MAG A-GL series isn't known for its great fans, I'd recommend getting a replacement or RMA'ing it since it’s making that kind of noise — might not be cooling the PSU well if the fan isn't working properly.
That doesn't sound like coil whine to me. It actually seems like there might be a problem with the fan — it could be failing and causing that buzzing sound.
You could replace the PSU fan with a case fan of the same size, but be careful! Opening a PSU can void the warranty and there's a risk of shock from high-voltage capacitors. I’d just focus on getting an RMA or warranty claim, especially since it’s only been a month.
