Is My RTX 3060ti Overheating?

Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a concern with my RTX 3060ti GPU. I've noticed that its temperature is hitting around 86-88°C even when the utilization is only about 76%. This seems unusually high, especially since I have a custom fan curve set up that hasn't helped much at all. The high temps occur during almost every game, including some less demanding ones. I even ran a Furmark stress test, and it peaked at 86°C after just 16 minutes. I'm considering either replacing the thermal paste and cleaning the fans or buying new case fans for better ventilation. Are there any other options I should look into? Thanks for any suggestions!

If you're not familiar with your case, why not test it out with the side panel open? If it cools down, you have an airflow issue. If not, that may point to a need for replacing the thermal paste instead.

Good idea! I’ll give that a shot. If it doesn’t help, I guess it's the thermal paste's turn.

That temp is definitely on the higher side! It might help to check your case's airflow—what kind of case are you using? If it’s older, you might need new thermal paste or even to clean out dust. Also, how long have you been using the GPU? If it's been a while, a repaste could really improve things.

I’m the second owner, used it for 9 months, and it was used for about 10 months before that. How often do you think I should repaste it?

If you’ve never changed the thermal paste, and it’s been a few years, it’s definitely time. Old paste can dry out and be less effective. Here’s a video that might help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY-EWQTU6LM

Sounds like you're hitting thermal throttling there. I suggest trying to repaste it with something like PTM 7950 for better results. It could make a big difference!
