Is Running My Home Server on Port 80 a Security Risk?

I recently set up a home server for Jellyfin and Copyparty, and I have a menu for choosing between them that runs on port 80. I don't have HTTPS set up yet, and honestly, I'm not sure how to do that. Is having my server on port 80 a bad idea? I keep everything updated, and my Jellyfin and Copyparty services run on different ports, but I'm worried about security.

You really should get an SSL certificate. They’re not hard to set up, and they’ll help keep your server secure. Just a heads-up, I heard you mention Certbot; that's a great option!

If your server isn't port forwarded, you're probably fine. But since it's port forwarded, you might have issues with bots trying to mess with it. It's not super secure, so consider switching to HTTPS.
