I'm trying to clarify something about the AWS free tier. I read that there's a 100GB per month free egress charge, but is this just a temporary deal for the first 12 months after signing up, or will it last indefinitely? My account was created in July 2015, so I'm on the older free tier. I just want to make sure I understand how this works. Thanks for any insights!

Good question! Since you signed up before the recent changes, you should indeed have the 100GB of free egress for the first 12 months. After that, you'll have the option to either stick with a pay-as-you-go plan or adjust your account settings. If you want more detailed info, you might want to check out the Legacy AWS Free Tier page.
Yeah, I think that's what it means. The pricing page seems to say the 100GB applies for the first 12 months, but it's not super clear.
So, just to confirm, the free egress does stop after the first year, right?
