Hey everyone! I'm in the process of setting up a new Windows Server 2025 and I need a desktop UI for the tasks this server will handle. I feel like my Googling skills aren't cutting it lately, or maybe the documentation isn't clear enough. When I try to download Windows Server from my volume licensing portal, I'm only seeing the "Core" version. Does this mean it lacks a full-fledged UI? I found some info in Microsoft's documentation, mentioning that the desktop shell conforms to the Windows 11 style upon signing in. So my question is, is there a version of Windows Server 2025 that comes with a regular desktop experience like the one we had in 2016? Thanks!

Yes, there is a version with a full desktop experience! I’m currently using it. If you check out the Evaluation ISO, you can select the full desktop option during the installation process. I tested this out and later converted it to a licensed version.
From what I've seen, the ISOs are pretty much the same. During installation, it prompts you to choose the version you want. Just be on the lookout for that option!
Got it, thanks for the heads up! That makes sense.
Awesome, thanks for confirming! I think I’ll go that route.
