Hey everyone! I'm considering building a gaming PC with a budget of around $1000, and I want your opinions on whether this setup is worth it. Here's the list of parts I'm looking at: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2Wyx3w). What do you think? Are there better components I should consider for this price range?

I recently built a PC with a 14600K and a 5070 for just under $990! It comes with some good game offers too, but I'd caution that it's a dead platform. That may mean you won’t be able to update it much in the future. Just something to keep in mind! You can check that combo [here](https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4814739) for a better idea of what you can get for your budget.
Check this out! I made a build under $1025 that includes an AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, a pretty solid GPU, and DDR5 RAM which should serve you well for gaming. Plus, it gives you some room to upgrade in the future. If you're open to slightly stretching your budget for better components, it's definitely worth it. Generally speaking, for a gaming PC, I'd say the $1100-$1250 range is where you start to see a significant difference in quality components with setups using LGA1700 or AM5. With an Intel CPU, like the i5, you can get a great price-to-performance ratio, making it possible to afford a decent video card like the 9070XT in the mid-tier price range. But consider your future upgrade plans too. Intel's platform allows for more flexibility if you're looking to upgrade later without breaking the bank. Honestly, it just depends on what you need now versus what you might want later. If your heart's set on AMD for potential CPU upgrades, you'd just be paying a premium for that now.
Yeah, I agree. Intel does generally offer greater value right now, especially if you're trying to maximize performance on a tighter budget.
I guess a short lifespan could be a risk if you're looking long term, but if you want performance now, maybe it’s still worth considering!
