Is Upgrading My CPU to Ryzen 7 7800X3D Worth It Without a GPU Upgrade?

Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade my PC since I mainly play FPS shooters like Arc, CS2, and PUBG. Occasionally, I'll dive into games like Mafia and RDR2. I'm considering swapping my current Intel Core i5-12400F for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, and I'm looking at pairing it with an MSI B850M Gaming Plus WiFi motherboard and DDR5-6000 CL30 RAM, along with a DeepCool AK400 Digital Pro for cooling. My budget for this upgrade is $800.

I also have a question about RAM. I can't afford to buy two sticks of DDR5-6000 right now; do you think it's a big deal if I just get one for now and grab a matching second one in a month or two?

Here's a quick rundown of my current setup:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC
- Motherboard: MSI PRO B660M-E DDR4
- RAM: 16 GB (2x8 GB) Kingston Fury Beast DDR4-3200
- PSU: 650 W Gold
- Cooling: ARCTIC Freezer i35
- Storage: M.2 SSD
- Monitor: 165Hz Xiaomi 1440p

I'd suggest considering an Intel 13700K or 14700K instead of the Ryzen 7. Also, DDR4-3600 CL16 would do just fine for 1440p gaming! If you're sticking with the RTX 3060 Ti, you might want to look at getting at least an RTX 3070 Ti or 3080 for better performance.

I get that, but my motherboard has a weak VRM, so I figured trying something new with Ryzen might be best.

Going with a single stick for now is totally doable, but make sure you pick the same one as you plan to buy later to avoid compatibility issues. Just keep an eye on your performance in demanding games.
