I currently have a mini PC equipped with an RTX 3070 and have been gaming on a 27" 1080p monitor. I mainly play older games like Doom Eternal, Shadow of War, and Chivalry 2. While I can max out the settings, I prefer medium settings for smoother gameplay and quicker load times. I'm curious if getting a 1440p monitor would make a noticeable difference to my gaming experience, especially when playing on medium settings.

Your RTX 3070 should handle older games at 1440p on medium settings with ease, likely giving you over 90 FPS if your CPU can keep up. Switching to 1440p will definitely improve clarity compared to 1080p!
You'll be dealing with around 70% more pixels at 1440p, which might affect performance, but I've been gaming on 1440p with a 2080 Super and it's been fantastic. I strongly suggest making the switch!
Actually, it's a 77% increase in pixel count, not quite double, but still a significant jump!
