Hey folks! I'm looking to upgrade my gaming rig from AMD's AM4 (currently running a Ryzen 5600) to AM5, and I'm considering the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I've already ordered a 5070ti and plan to use at least two NVMe drives along with two SATA SSDs. I'm a bit concerned about the motherboard though, as I've come across mixed reviews regarding the VRMs. Some say it won't be an issue for the 9800X3D, while others aren't as optimistic. I usually play a mix of CPU and GPU-heavy games, like Cyberpunk and Battlefield. Do you think these components will work well together?

You could save some cash by going for a B850 motherboard instead of the X870. Also, double check that your Liquid Freezer III cooler fits in your case—those 280mm radiators can be a tight squeeze in some setups!
I'd definitely recommend downgrading to the B850 motherboard. If you're not using X870's extra features, it’s a smarter choice. Plus, you shouldn’t have any issues with a B850 for your setup.
Exactly! The main differences are those added features like USB4 and PCIe 5. If you won't be using them, the B850 will suit you just fine. Keep an eye on brands though; ASrock isn't getting a lot of love in the community right now.
