Is Using AI for My Website a Waste of Time?

I've been focusing on building my remodeling business and have avoided hiring marketing agencies because I've been doing well on my own. Now, I'm launching a new online business offering marketing products like videos and logos. I've been using Google's Gemeni service to help me build my website, and while it's generating some decent code, I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time tweaking it myself. The site is simple, mainly a payment portal, and I've managed to set up a landing page and service packages. I know Gemeni suggests using Netlify for hosting and Stripe for payments, but I'm concerned about potential issues down the line. Do you think I should hire a developer to ensure everything is set up correctly, or can I handle this on my own? I'm using a CRM called GoHighLevel for my construction business, and I want to maintain control without relying too heavily on someone else. I'd appreciate any advice!

It's tough to gauge the effectiveness of what you're building based on just this post. If you're leaning on freelancers, you may want to consider their reliability in the long run. You seem motivated to do this yourself, but remember that relying solely on AI tools can lead to unexpected challenges, especially for something as vital as payment processing. Maybe start with a prototype and then bring in a developer for the more complicated aspects.

That’s exactly what I was thinking! If I can get a rough version working, it will give a developer better insight into what I want. It’s frustrating to feel like people dismiss my efforts, but I want to be smart about it and make sure everything is functional and secure.

As long as you're sticking to using Stripe for payment links, you should be okay. Just steer clear of trying to handle credit card processing directly on your site to avoid security issues. But keep in mind, it’s important to have robust security measures in place since you’re running a business that takes payments.

Using AI-generated code for your front end is doable, especially since you're planning to use Stripe for payments instead of building a full backend. If you're comfortable managing the basics, you might not need to hire a developer just yet. However, since you mentioned having no experience, it could be wise to consult with a freelancer to make sure everything's set up correctly and safely.
