I'm considering a switch from VMware to Proxmox and weighing the pros and cons of disabling our hardware RAID card in favor of ZFS. Virtually everyone I trust claims ZFS is the ideal file system for server environments, especially unless you're on ESXi. The only downsides I've seen are slight increases in CPU and RAM usage, which don't concern me much. I'm curious if this widely held belief that ZFS is the best choice is indeed accurate and if anyone has personal experiences to share.
