Hey everyone, I've been dealing with a serious security breach. My personal Google account, which I've had for over a decade, was compromised on June 11th through a SIM swap and a bypass of my two-factor authentication. Although I managed to access it for a while (likely because it was used to backdoor my devices), I've now been completely locked out after the attacker added a security key. I enrolled in Google's Advanced Protection Program last week, but I'm not sure if they might have attached a security key to my account as well. Is there anything I can do to regain access? My Google account is linked to Workspace, and I discovered an unknown service worker in my Chrome Web Store extensions that has been controlling device emulation and accessing my network, which indicates a serious infiltration. I've even gone to my state's cyber crime unit, but they told me they don't deal with individual cases. Any ideas, no matter how extreme? Update: I attempted to recover the account, but the email was changed to a kev*****@gmail.com. It feels like I'm at a dead end here!

Unfortunately, it sounds like your best bet is to contact Google support directly, but I know how frustrating that can be. There really isn't much anyone here can do to help you with account recovery specifics. You should try their dedicated support channels or forums if you haven’t already, but be prepared for long wait times. Also, consider reaching out to someone in Google’s sales department since you mentioned you're a customer; they might be able to escalate the issue better than regular support.
I hear you on the support issue. Google tends to have a backlog, but I almost wonder if contacting them through their social media accounts might get you a quicker response since they typically prioritize public-facing complaints.
