I recently installed Pop!_OS as my first Linux distribution. I want to start off easy, so I'm diving into the terminal to learn the ins and outs. I'm looking for helpful tips or recommendations for other operating systems I could explore. The only thing keeping me on Windows right now is gaming support. Is there a good basic guide for Ubuntu-based distros? I aim to switch to Linux completely, except for a few gaming scenarios.

First off, definitely install Flatpak – it makes managing apps way easier. Get to know `sudo` and avoid using the root account as your main login for safety. Spend some time actually using Pop!_OS to really get familiar with it. Before jumping into other distributions, it's good to have a grasp on what you like or don’t like about Ubuntu. You can experiment with different desktop environments to see which ones you enjoy the most!

Thanks a lot for the tips! I just got a local LLM up and running using only the terminal, which was a bit of a challenge but fun. Still, I'm mostly on Windows right now, and I can't stand Windows 11!
