Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my wife's gaming PC with some leftover parts from a coworker, adding a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and doubling the RAM from 16GB to 32GB. After some initial struggles with getting the new RAM to work, I managed to get the system to post and updated the BIOS since it was outdated. However, once I set everything back up in her office, I found that the LAN port on the motherboard isn't working at all. The lights aren't even coming on, which is unusual. I tried updating and reinstalling the network driver, and even reinstalled Windows while using my phone for internet access, but none of that solved the problem. Now I'm considering remounting the CPU cooler, reseating the CPU, or possibly reverting to the old CPU. Before I dive into that, I wanted to ask if anyone has other suggestions since time is tight for me. Thanks in advance for your help!

Here are a couple of things you might want to look into: First, make sure the Ethernet cable is functioning properly by testing it with another device like a laptop. It’s also a good idea to check in Device Manager to see if the network adapter is recognized and if the driver is working as it should. Since you've already tried reinstalling the driver, if the cable is good, it could be a BIOS issue where the network device is somehow disabled.

I forgot to mention that I did try switching to a different cable going into the Mesh WiFi Node. I also checked the BIOS to ensure the LAN port was enabled, but it was set to on. Following the Windows reinstall, though, I can't see the LAN adapter anymore in Device Manager.
