I have a QR code on my vehicle that tracks scans, but the site I'm currently using charges $19 a month! I'm based in the UK and need recommendations for a QR code that won't expire and preferably is either free or low-cost. Any ideas?

QR codes themselves are permanently free and don’t expire; it's really the URL and the tracking services that can cost you. If you have your own domain, you can easily create QR codes for free using various online generators. Just make sure your URL remains active, as that’s what matters for the code to work in the long run.

If you’re looking for a lifetime guarantee for your QR code, handling it yourself is the best option. Using a free QR generator is easy, but you might want to consider some basic web hosting to maintain your link. I like this one: https://qr-bar-code.com/en/qr-generator.

Check out QR Code Generator or goqr.me. Both can help you create permanent QR codes for free. If you need analytics, make sure to pair it with a tracking service that won’t shut down.

A QR code is simply an encoded link. If you want it to last forever, consider creating your own domain with a redirect to your desired site. It’s cost-effective and you won’t have to worry about it expiring.

Do you need tracking or just the QR code? If tracking is important, that's where the charges come in. You might want to consider URL shortening services to manage this without a monthly fee. You can generate a QR code for that shortened URL which will always point to your target site as long as your domain is active.
