Looking for a Human Teacher to Help with Game Programming

I've been really passionate about creating games and projects for a long time, but despite numerous attempts to learn coding and game development through various YouTube tutorials and courses, I keep hitting walls I can't overcome. I often find myself needing help but my friends with programming experience are usually too busy to assist. I'm aware that many programmers are self-taught, and I admire that, but I just don't think I can teach myself to code effectively. I've also heard a lot of negative feedback regarding programming degrees being a poor investment. So, does anyone know of any good services or tutors for learning programming, specifically game development, with personal guidance and at a reasonable cost?

You're right to seek a more hands-on approach. Just dive into creating something! Don't wait for theoretical knowledge to pile up. Start with a small project that excites you and learn as you go. Use search engines and AI tools to troubleshoot and figure things out in real-time. The best learning comes from actually doing, so get your hands dirty!

Exactly! Get started with something small; you'll learn so much more that way.

Are you sure you can’t ask for help from those around you? Based on your post, you might actually be able to teach something in return, even if it's just math or another subject. Collaborating with someone nearby might be a quicker solution than looking for a tutor.

It sounds like you're caught in 'tutorial hell.' Instead of simply following tutorials, try to focus on understanding concepts. Watch lectures on programming languages to build a solid foundation rather than copying code without knowing how it works. Scale your project ideas down to something manageable, like creating a simple text-based game, so you can grasp the essential skills before diving into more complex graphical projects. Plus, there's a wealth of resources online, so you might not even need to spend money on courses!

Totally agree, you need to break things down and learn the basics first!
