I'm trying to find a decent Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution for our Apple devices, mainly iPads and iPhones. The current setup inherited from the previous admin is Mosyle, which is free but really confusing to navigate; I feel it's geared more towards K-12 education rather than a corporate environment like ours. I'm looking for key features that include: app deployment by department, blocking non-approved apps, Wi-Fi setup, lock/PIN enforcement, Cisco Umbrella content filtering management, and the ability to track devices. We're primarily using Microsoft products, and while I know Intune offers some controls, I'm uncertain if it can meet all my needs. I'm not in the market for anything overly complex, just something effective and easy to manage, and willing to invest a bit more than free options. Any recommendations would be great!

You might want to double-check the setup done by your predecessor. We use Mosyle (Fuse) in a corporate environment with over 1,000 devices, after switching from Jamf, and it's been great. If you’re using the free version, it’s likely you have restrictions. Make sure you’re on Mosyle's business platform and not the education one, then reach out to their support for optimization help. A well-configured Mosyle can be really effective in a corporate setting!
If you're in a Microsoft environment, Intune really is the way to go. The licensing can be a bit tricky, but you might be paying for it already, so it makes sense to utilize it if it fits your needs.
Check out forums dedicated to Apple admin topics, like the MacSysAdmin subreddit. From what I've seen, many folks prefer Mosyle for its cost effectiveness. Intune is primarily built for Windows with some Apple support, while Jamf is recognized as a top choice for Apple MDM, though it's on the pricier side now with its recent buyout.
We've been using Intune MDM for all our iPads and iPhones, and it really works well. The only aspect I can't confirm is the content filtering since we use WatchGuard for that instead. Overall, Intune covers all the base functions you typically get with MDMs, so I don't think you'll run into any issues. Plus, it's great to manage everything through one portal!
I've been using Miradore for a few years, and I really like it. It's straightforward and gets the job done for device management.

I switched from MaaS360 to Intune too. The initial setup can be a bit of a hassle, but I'm much happier with it after getting through the learning curve. There are definitely pros and cons, but overall it's working for us.
